For the past 35 years, Dr. van der Jagt has provided a broad and diverse spectrum of pediatric care including primary care, pediatric critical care, pediatric hospital medicine, pediatric transport medicine and pediatric procedural sedation. He was the first full time pediatric intensivist at the institution formally initiating the discipline of pediatric critical care medicine. Similarly, he initiated pediatric hospital medicine as both a discipline and a division of the department of pediatrics.
