My free time is enjoyed with my family, as well as playing basketball and softball with friends. Of course when the time is right, what doctor does not enjoy a round of golf! Over my years of training I have come to realize that Pediatric medicine and preventive medicine are synonymous terms. A good pediatrician provides appropriate care from birth and on to keep patients away from disease, rather than treat them when the disease has already occurred. That is why I feel it so important to start with good newborn care along with anticipatory guidance and timely immunizations. With childhood obesity becoming an epidemic, early intervention with proper diet and exercise need to be at the forefront as a preventive strategy.
