At Hasbro Children's pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) the physicians and staff admit and treat infants and children through 18 years of age. If a child needs intensive care, we bring the child to our pediatric intensive care unit as soon as possible, often within minutes. If a critically ill child has been taken first to another hospital, we have a pediatric transport team, consisting of a doctor, an intensive care nurse and a respiratory therapist (if needed), that can be dispatched to the referring hospital to help stabilize the child and bring the child to Hasbro Children's.
