Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare: Academically, I loved math and science. This coupled with a interest in nutrition, health and wellness and a desire for job security, it seemed that medicine was a natural choice. What I want my patients to know about me: I was never so filled with awe as when I attended deliveries of babies when on rotation in the neonatal intensive care unit. That moment when a child is born is life changing and a privilege to experience. It is a time when medical interventions can mean the difference between life and death. What I do when I'm not seeing patients: I enjoy yoga, running, strength training and meditation. I am constantly trying out new recipes, as my interest in nutrition has never waned.
