Dr. Mahaffey received her medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC. She completed her pediatric residency at Texas Tech University, where she served as Chief Resident. Dr. Mahaffey is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is the mother of three children.
